What we build

Remodeling inside and out, from a single room to the whole house, with the trim and cabinetry that finish it.

Full interior remodels: Gut-and-rebuild or room-by-room updates, planned and managed by one person from start to finish.
Additions: Room additions that blend with your existing house, coordinated with the rest of your remodel.
Siding: All types of siding, cedar included, on the same crew and schedule as your interior work.
Windows: New and replacement windows, with the trim finished to match.
Decks: Decks built to fit your house and your yard, on the same crew and schedule as the rest of your project.
Timber frame work: Entryways, porches, pergolas, and gable accents framed in timber, built to suit the style of your house.
Custom trim and cabinetry: Baseboard, casing, crown, built-ins, and cabinets fit to your house instead of pulled off a shelf.
Flooring: New floors installed over a properly prepared subfloor, with clean transitions from room to room.
Tile: Floors, showers, backsplashes, and tub surrounds, set level with straight grout lines.
Painting: Careful prep, clean cut lines, and finishes that hold up to daily use.
Drywall and woodwork: Hanging, taping, and finishing, plus repairs that disappear once the paint is on.

Where we work

Who does the work

James owns and runs GrandRiver Designs. He works with a crew of skilled contractors and stays involved on every job, so the person who gives you the estimate is the person accountable for the result.

The work covers the whole house. Inside, that means framing changes, drywall, trim, cabinets, floors, tile, and paint. Outside, it means additions, windows, siding of all types, cedar included, decks, and timber frame work including entryways, porches, pergolas, and gable accents. It is all coordinated under one schedule.
